Symptoms
Admin user cannot log into HSF after a new installation. Error says the user does not have the proper credentials.Changes
New installation.Cause
The registry setting for HSFService was missing the HubInstanceID.
While retrieving the HSF ApplicationID (aka HubInstanceID) from EPM Registry, HSF compares a non-qualified host name to Registry's qualified host names and they do not match. This leads to an empty ApplicationID and the inability to retrieve Roles from Shared Services.
Solution
1. Apply patach 02.2. If step 1 does not fix the issue then use the workaround to make an adjustment to the registry. Pointing to the HubInstanceID and adding a new Dword for the HsfService: OverrideHyperionREpository with a value of 1, will allow users to access HSF.
(Case matters)
3. Go to HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Hyperion/HSF Service/Authentication
Look for the HubInstanceID attribute in the right hand pane.
Make sure this HubInstanceID is point to the HSF Server Host:
HSF:HSFServer_<Unqualified HSF Server Host Name>
4. Under HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Hyperion/HSF Service folder, create a new DWORD
Right click on the right hand pane and select New.
Select DWORD
Type: OverrideHyperionRegistry for the new DWORD name.
Give this a Decimal Value of (1)
