Goal

Is it supported by Oracle, to have some components of Financial Management running on 64-bit architecture and other components on 32-bit architecture within the same environment?

Solution

Use of 32-bit and 64-bit components in the same Financial Management environment is supported in the following scenarios:

• 32-bit and 64-bit Financial Management application servers can be used together in the same application server cluster
• 32-bit web servers (IIS servers) can be used with 64 bit application servers
• 32-bit Financial Management Desktop client software (thick client) can be used to connect to applications running on 64-bit application servers.
• 64-bit Financial Management application servers will be supported to connect to Hyperion Shared Services / Hyperion Foundation Services running on 32-bit architecture

Oracle recommends that all versions of Financial Management 11.1.1.x or higher are run on 64-bit Windows architecture application server tiers to achieve optimum memory management and improved performance.
