Hyperion Essbase - Version: 11.1.2.1.000 and later   [Release: 11.1 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Following a brand new distributed installation of version 11.1.2.1, when configuring Essbase, the Configuration Utility hangs at the last screen on 0% and does not go any further.

Cause

The wrong host name for the server was entered during the configuration.

Solution

1. Check the configtool.log for errors, such as:

"java.net.UnknownHostException: servername.servername.com"

2. Also, run the epmsys_registry.bat or epmsys_registry.sh and check the registry.html report.

3. Make sure that the servername that is listed is resolvable to the correct IP address, and that the correct servername is being used.

4. Try adding the HOST entry on the machine to resolve the servername.servername.com to the other machine and/or or fix the host entry in the registry using the registry utility.

Please contact Oracle technical support to assist with modifying the registry.
