Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management - Version: 11.1.2.1.000Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
The EPM System Installation Guide states that FDM can be installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Operating System for 32-BIT BINARIES ONLY. Does this mean FDM can still be installed on a 64bit O/S but it will run in 32bit mode? Or is it not supported for installation on a 64bit OS?Note:
As mentioned per the EPM 11.1.2 Matrix "oracle-hyperion-epm-system-certific-131801.xls"that:
Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit x64 is supported.
But in Exceptions and Additional Information section, there is the following:
32-BIT BINARIES ONLY FOR: FDM, Financial Reporting Print Server, Interactive Reporting Services, and Strategic Finance.

Solution
FDM can successfully run on a 64 bit 2008 machine. FDM does not have 64 bit binaries, it is a 32 bit component. You can install FDM on 64-bit OS but it is a 32 bit application and will run in 32-bit mode.Note: Special guidelines have to be followed for running FDM on 64 bit machine:
On a windows 2008 server you need to make sure the following is set:
- User Account Control (UAC) has been disabled within User Accounts under Administrative Tools in the Control Panel.
- The Windows Firewall should be disabled.
- The IIS6 Metabase has been installed along with the Application Server Role on the server to enable ASP.NET with IIS.
NOTE: These items are also required on a x86 Windows 2008 Server.
