Configure Web Server for FDM in EPM System Config Tool Fails On Win2008 64-Bit |
Applies to:
Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management - Version: 11.1.2.0.00Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
The EPM installer is being ran to install Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management. The installer completes successfully, however when the EPM System config tool is ran the "Configure Web Server" portion fails and the FDM virtual directory is not created in IIS.Cause
The EPM System installer uses the msscript.ocx file located in the C:\Windows\Syswow64 directory to run the scripts necessary to create the FDM virtual directory within IIS and create the FDM Task Manager Service within the windows services panel. When the installer is attempting to access this file the install log notes a "Access is denied C:\windows\syswow64\msscript.ocx" message. This indicates that the user attempting to access this file during the installation process is receiving a "Access is Denied" windows message.
Solution
A) Logon to the server as the FDM service accountB) Open a command prompt
C) Browse to C:\Windows\Syswow64
D) Type regsvr32 MSSCRIPT.OCX and hit enter
E) Receive message that the file registered successfully.
F) Re-run the epm system installer and choose "Re-install this release", uncheck all items except FDM and complete the installer.
G) Run the EPM System Config tool and check FDM, the EPM System config tool completes successfully
H) Set the FDM Configs (App Server, Load Balance Server, Task Manager, Web Config)
