Symptoms

User is not able to launch custom documents (or Financial reporting) and therefore cannot attach these documents onto the Tasklist. 

Error message reads

Cause

Smartcut link default servername and port needs to be setup in the shared services registry.

Otherwise Planning port will be used instead which would result in a page cannot be displayed.

Solution

Smartcut has a variable in the registry that is is http://servername:19000 (servername being the HTTP Server) that is used everytime smartcuts are used no matter what you put in your tasklists.
Do the following to make sure that it matches the beginning of your url:
- Login to Workspace as admin
- Go to Navigate -> Administer -> Reporting and Analysis -> Web Applications -> Right click on 'Reporting and Analysis Framework Web-Applications -> Properties -> Internal
- Check that the 'custom Smartcut url' is correct and matches what is used in your smartcuts.
