Symptoms

After clearing cookies and temporary internet files in IE 6, it takes a very long time to log into Workspace for the first time, sometimes four to six minutes.

The Web Server in use with the Hyperion Workspace is Microsoft IIS.

Note: The issue is not seen when using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (IE7).  

Cause

  IE 6 does not handle IIS dynamic compression correctly.

Solution

To resolve the problem, either one of the following two actions can be taken:

• Disable dynamic compression in IIS; or 
• Upgrade to IE 7
