Purpose
The purpose of this article is to provide information about steps involved in the rollback for Hyperion BI+, if upgrade from System 9.3.1 to Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) 11.1.1.x is not successful.Scope
This document is intended for administrators and IT professionals with the task of administering Hyperion Reporting and Analysis application. Person using this document is expected to have good understanding of installing Hyperion BI+.Last Review Date

A Troubleshooting Guide is provided to assist in debugging a specific issue. When possible, diagnostic tools are included in the document to assist in troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting Details
Rollback Steps When Upgrade From 9.3.1 To EPM 11.1.1.x Not Successful
You should have a good backup before upgrade. Refer to backup_recovery.pdf file for a complete detail.Files should be backed up in 9.3.1:
- Reporting and Analysis relational database. Stop all services when perform a full backup
- Hyperion installation directory and all subdirectories, for example, C:\Hyperion
- OS registry including entries made by the installer
- Third-party vendor's Application Server directory that is used to deploy Reporting and
- Analysis, for example, C:\BEA or C:\WebSphere.
- vpd.properties file, which is typically located in C:\Windows or C: \Documents and Settings\
CSS.xml file \hyperion\deployments\your_web_apps\sharedservices9\config
If upgrade to 11.1.1.x was not successful and need to revert back, the following tasks should be performed:
- Uninstall Hyperion Shared Services and Hyperion BI+
- Install Hyperion Shared Services
- Run the configuration for HSS
- Copy over the \hyperion\...\var\openldap-data from BACKUP
- Apply any service pack or fixes if needed at this time for Hyperion Shared Services
- Login to the User Management Console
- Configure the external authentication if needed or copy the CSS.xml from BACKUP
- Install services and UI services
- Run the configuration for BI+
- Copy over the Root folder \Hyperion\biplus\data\RMI\Root from BACKUP
- Apply any service pack or fixes if needed at this time for Hyperion BI+
- Redeploy Workspace
- Login to Workspace and verify all your reports or open them in IRWC or HTML
- Setup DAS connection if needed or edit the server.xml with all the connections
