Symptoms

While installing patch 10161974 for SF 11.1.2.0.04, you get the following error under command prompt:

"OPatch failed with error code = 104"

Cause

The Inventory folder was missing in <ORACLE>\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\

Solution

The inventory folder needs to be created before installing the Opatch, then follow the steps in Readme for the patch.

To install the Service Fix :

1. Create the inventory folder using the following command:

%EPM_ORACLE_HOME%\oui\bin\setup -force -responseFile %EPM_ORACLE_HOME%\common\epmstage\oui_response.rsp -jreLoc %EPM_ORACLE_HOME%\..\jdk160_11

2. Install the OPatch using the following command :
In C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\OPatch,

opatch.bat apply <EPM_ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch/ShipDir -oh <EPM_ORACLE_HOME> -jre <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/jdk160_11
