Goal

I need to apply the Java security update 30 patch to my installation. How do I do it properly? 

Solution

1. Download Patch 9477224 from support.oracle.com.
   
   You will get a zip that contains two .exe files, one to install the JDK and one to install the JRE.
   
    
2. Double-click jdk exe to install the JDK to any folder outside of Hyperion home.
3.  Make a backup copy of the existing Hyperion home JRE folder, for example, HYPERION_HOME/
   common/JRE/1.5.0.
4. Select all the files and folders under the jre subfolder from the newly-installed JDK, and copy
   them to HYPERION_HOME/common/JRE/1.5.0, overwriting existing files and folders.
