Symptoms

After upgrading a Financial Management (HFM) to version 9.3.3, it is no longer possible to export Web Data Entry Forms (WDEFs) to Excel. In WDEFs there is a red X instead of Export to Excel buttons and clicking on them causes an error message:

An An error has occurred. Please contact your administrator.
Error Number:5
Error Description:Invalid procedure call or argument
Error Source:Microsoft VBScript runtime error

Changes

Upgrade from HFM 9.3.1 to HFM 9.3.3 version

Cause

During the upgrade some of the installation files have not been placed in correct directories.

Solution

Use the following workaround to resolve this issue:
  1. From the Attachments section of this article download the Export2Excel.zip file to your HFM web server.
  2. Unzip the file.
  3. Copy the files from Images folder to %Hyperion_Home%\Financial Management\Web\HFM\Images
  4. Copy the files from Data folder to %Hyperion_Home%\Financial Management\Web\HFM\Data
  5. Restart IIS on the HFM web server, ie. using Windows command iisreset
