Symptoms

Smart View will not connect to the HFM Office Provider.

Error  



When you enter the Smart View URL into a web browser, e.g. http://localhost/hfmofficeprovider/hfmofficeprovider.aspx (use localhost only if you are on the web server), you get a blank screen.

Changes

Installed PSU 102 for Hyperion Financial Management on a patched 11.1.2.1.0 environment.  

Cause

Certain configuration files are not replaced on install. This would only occur on a system that had previous patches installed prior to applying PSU 102.

PSU 102 was re-issued to correct this problem.

Solution

To resolve this you will need to run the EPM System Configurator and reconfigure the HFM Smart View Provider

  1. Launch the EPM Configurator on your HFM Web Server
  2. Deselect (uncheck) the "Check All" Box
  3. Expand "Financial Management"
  4. Check "Configure Web Server"
  5. Click Next
  6. Deselect everything except "Configure IIS to Enable Smart View Provider"
  7. Click Next twice.
