Goal

In Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system 11.1.2 a Financial Management (HFM) Application web session times out in the Hyperion Workspace after 20 minutes even though the default value is set to 30 minutes in the Workspace Server settings.

Solution

Follow these steps to increase the length of HFM web session in EPM 11.1.2:

1. Open Shared Services console.
2. Click on the Application groups and Expand it.
3. Go to Foundation Expand->Deployment Metadata.
4. On the Right Side of the Page open the Shared services Registry
5. Expand Shared services Registry-> Open the Financial Management
6. Expand Financial Management->Open LWA-hfm@Servername_Portnumber
7. Expand LWA-hfm@Servername_Portnumber->Open Financial Management WebApp@Servername_Portnumber
8. Expand LWA-hfm@Servername_Portnumber->Open Financial Management WebApp@Servername_Portnumber and Right Click on the Properties file in it and Export for EDIT and save the Component.Properties.
9. Open the Component.properties file and change the SessionTimeout=1200 to SessionTimeout=3600(for 60 minutes)
10. Save the File and import after edit back to the properties file under Financial Management WebApp@Servername_Portnumber
