Symptoms


You open a report in Financial Reporting Studio, and receive the following messages:
"Failed to connect to server.
Error connecting to database connection <connection name>. This application is not
registered with Hyperion Shared Services. Please contact your administrator".
You open Shared Services and select Projects: Financial Management.  The application is present.

Cause

  HFM components on the Studio workstation are incorrectly configured to the HFM cluster.

Solution

  1. On the HFM server, run HFM configuration and leave the configuration screen open without changes.
  2. On the Workstation, run HFM configuration, and change it to exactly what you see on the HFM server.
  3. Save the changes and exit configuration on the Workstation.
  4. Exit configuration on the server.
