Symptoms

Users receive the following error when opening the application from workspace

http://server:19000/hfm/globalnav/bpm/modules/com/hfm/web/appcontainer/adf.asp

When you test HFM Web directly by going to

http://<hfmwebserver>/hfm

an 404.3 Error is displayed, which you can confirm in the IIS logs.

Cause

The error 404.3 indicates a failure due to MIME type restriction. With HFM, this means that IIS is not able to process asp pages.

In IIS 7, server side scripted MIME types are not enabled by default. So, for HFM to work you need to install the ASP component of IIS.

Solution

To Install ASP

On your HFM Web server with IIS7
Go to Control Panel/Programs and Features,
select "Turn Windows Features On or Off"

Once int the Windows Features interface, navigate to Internet Information Services/World Wide Web Services/Application Development Features
Check ASP.

This will install the ASP handler into IIS.
