Symptoms
Users that have configured a default application start up preference in Hyperion Workspace receive errorThe Specified Application Doesn't Exist, when attempting to open that Hyperion Financial Management (FM) application.
When attempting to change the application start up preference, the error Server/Cluster Is Configured Incorrectly Configured occurs when trying to save the new cluster selection.
Cause
There are three possible causes for this issue:
- FM application has been copied from environment where the FM cluster or server names are different
- FM cluster name has been changed
- FM application server is off line
When an application start up preference has been set for an application and the configured server or cluster is no long available, attempting to change the preference fails because the old server or cluster is still being used to update the application for the new preference.
Solution
The issue is resolved by applying Oracle’s Hyperion Financial Management 9.3.1.3 service pack. To apply service pack:
- Download HFM 9.3.1.3 service pack Patch 7457927
- Review the Readme files. Note that this download also includes the 9.3.1.1 and 9.3.1.2 service pack files and these must be installed prior to installing 9.3.1.3.
- Apply service packs 9.3.1.1 and 9.3.1.2 if not already applied and then apply 9.3.1.3.
It is recommended to apply the latest available service pack for your product. For more details please see Recommended Patches for Oracle Hyperion Financial Management Document 1321453.1.
