Purpose

The purpose of this document is to explain the necessary roles that are required in Microsoft Windows 2008 Server for the Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) Web Server Components to be properly configured.

Scope

The Scope of this document is for any individual performing an installation and configuration of the FDM Web Server Components of EPM version 11.1.2.0.

In order to successfully configure the web server components of Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management version 11.1.2.0 on a Windows 2008 server, there are required roles that must be enabled on the server.

The Application Server Role and Web Server Role must be installed on the FDM Web Server in the environment.

Necessary roles for FDM Web on Windows 2008
  1. The first step is to launch the Windows 2008 Server Manager as Shown. Click the "Add Roles" link.
  2. The first role necessary for the FDM Web Server to function is the Application Server Role
  3. Selecting this role returns a message box alerting you that additional features are required for installation of the role. Click the Add Required Features Button.
  4. The second required role is the Web Server (IIS) Role which installs the IIS components.
  5. The next screen is an Introduction to the Application Server Role. Click Next to continue.
  6. The Application Server Foundation is selected by default. The Web Server (IIS) Support Role Service is also required.
  7. Choose to add the Required Role Services
  8. The next screen is an Introduction to the Web Server (IIS) Role. Click Next.
  9. All default selected options should be checked along with the "IIS 6 Management Compatibility" option which will install the IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility required for FDM.
  10. Review all selected options and click "Install" to install the components.
  11. Installation is Successful. Click Close to finish.
