How to log into Financial Reporting Studio in version 11.1.2?

The release of Hyperion v 11.1.2 has a new field that may not be familiar to some users. This will show how to log into the FR Studio client.

•  Launch the FR studio by navigating to Start -> Programs -> Oracle EPM System -> Reporting and Analysis -> FR Studio. If the link is not present, launch HReports.exe from %Hyperion_Home%\EPMSystem11R1\products\biplus\bin from within Windows Explorer.

• After FRStudio starts, three fields will be available:

1. User ID (the user's provisioned username)
2. Password (the user's password)
3. Server URL (see below)

New to version 11.1.2 is the requirement of a complete Server URL instead of a server (as seen in previous releases). The Server URL field should point to the environment's . For instance, using Oracle HTTP Server on port 19000, the URL to log into the Studio would be http://:19000. No context is needed (for instance http://:19000/workspace).

Icons are not displaying using Web Preview within Financial Reporting Studio. Why is that?

In past versions of Financial Reporting Studio, it was necessary to log into the studio using port 8200, the Financial Reporting Web port. However in the 11.1.2 release, we now serve the icons from the static content of the OHS Server (Oracle HTTP Server). Because of this, the user must use the 19000 port when logging into Financial Reporting Studio. Please see 'How to log into Financial Reporting Studio in version 11.1.2' for additional details.

Where can I turn on Financial Reporting Studio logging?

As with other releases, you can turn on client logging in the machines registry under the following keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Hyperion Solutions->Hyperion Reports->HReports->JVM

• SysErrFile
• SysOutFile

If this is your first time setting this, both keys will be set to 'nul'. Simply double click on each key and place a path to the directory (respectively):

MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/epmsystem1/diagnostics/logs/FinancialReporting/SysErrFile.log
MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/epmsystem1/diagnostics/logs/FinancialReporting/SysOutFile.log
