Goal

Is it recommended to delete the Windows Account, that has been initially used to install EPM System?

Solution

Although Windows Account, which has been used to install EPM System, is not required for normal day to day functioning of the EPM System, it is not recommended to delete this account.
In situations like upgrading products, applying maintenance releases or modifying configuration using EPM Configurator, it is recommended to use the same Windows Account, which was used for the initial installation of the EPM System.
During installation, the EPM Configurator creates a file called .oracle.instance in the directory C:\Users\<username> containing details about the EPM Oracle Instance. Later EPM Configurator will check existance of this file to obtain inforamtion about the system. When EPM Configurator is used with Windows Account other then the one used for initial configuration, this file will not be correctly located by the Configurator. It will be assumed that this is a new installation and options to modify an existing instance will not be available.
